A nimble canvas for the new city

Jessica Rich

Producer. Curator. Catalyst.

Jessica Rich graduated from the George Washington University with a BA in Art History. After interning for the Smithsonian Institution and the National Gallery of Art, she wrote her senior thesis on J. Louis David and the untenable rigor of the Neoclassical practice.

Upon graduation, Jessica began a two-decade-long career in film marketing. As VP Creative Advertising for 21st  Century Fox, Jessica was the creative director for Fox’s in-house creative agency, Movietone Film. As Senior Vice President, Marketing and Creative Advertising at Sony Pictures Entertainment, Jessica worked with filmmakers and created marketing campaigns for dozens of successful films, including Titanic and Fight Club.

Throughout her life, Jessica has helped curate, maintain and assemble her family’s art collection. Although Hollywood was the family business (her father founded Lorimar Productions), art was her mother’s passion. With a focus on post-war contemporary American and European artists, this collection includes over 350 major works by artists including Cy Twombly, Robert Motherwell, Richard Diebenkorn, David Hockney, James Rosenquist, John McLaughlin, Robert Rauschenberg, Frank Stella, Ad Reinhardt, Agnes Martin, and many others.

Following the birth of Jessica’s sons and a sabbatical from motion picture marketing, Jessica began volunteering at LA><ART in 2014. Eventually she would expand their Public Domain Initiative by curating two locations of  HD Digital Billboards in West Hollywood. In 2016, Jessica formed The Rich Picture to support this initiative. Jessica has also joined LA><ART Founder, Lauri Firstenberg in her new endeavor, the IF Innovation Foundation.

Currently Jessica produces and curates digital time-based media platforms. Some are independent explorations through The Rich Picture and others are collaborations with IF Los Angeles (IFLA) and West Hollywood’s Art On The Outside. Jessica lives in Santa Monica with her family and believes that telling the truth is still a revolutionary act.
